During the meeting between Zdravko Počivalšek, Slovenian Minister of Economic Development and Technology and the Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi, the two countries agreed to broaden bilateral cooperation in all areas.
The two officials met each other on Friday in Saint Petersburg on the sidelines of 21st St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
“Successful visit of Slovenian president to Tehran, opening of the Slovenian embassy to Tehran, and the appointment of the Slovenian ambassador to Tehran led to planning for forming the joint commission of economic cooperation and maybe in summer the first meeting of the joint commission be held,” said the Iranian minister during the meeting
During the same meeting, Mr. Počivalšek extended greetings over the reelection of President Rouhani for the term in office and hailed the 40% boom in economic exchange between Iran and Slovenia in the year of 2016.
